EMG EMI & EKI - Highly accurate strip edge and center measurement

EMG EMI - edge and centre measurement

EMG EMI & EKI

In temperature-stable environments up to 50 °C, our inductive edge and centre measurement sensor delivers a centre measurement accuracy of up to ±1 mm.
Ideal for your applications with the highest demands on accuracy and process stability.

Function principle

EMG EMI edge and centre sensor is used as an inductive high-precision strip center measurement at normal ambient temperatures (up to approx. 50 °C). This sensor has a center measuring accuracy of +/- 1 mm. An optional output of the strip width is possible with an accuracy of +/- 1.5 mm (with constant strip thickness, material type and passline).

The compact measuring frame made of anodized aluminium extrusions has inductive sensors that can be moved by electric motor on both sides of the edge. The two sensors above and below the strip are mechanically coupled in the side section via a synchronized shaft and follow the strip edges in rigid position control loops. The positions are continuously recorded via integrated displacement transducers. The strip position is calculated from the positions and the sensor overlap.

Customer benefits

  • Real-time monitoring with data recording and reporting
  • Compatibility with existing conveyor systems
  • Temperature resistance
  • Precise strip positioning
  • Versatile applications
  • Resistance to difficult environmental conditions

EMG EMI and EKI - that means high-precision, low-maintenance inductive measurement – optionally with strip width output.
