EMG ELDROclassic®
Function principle
Overhead cranes and seaport cranes use electrohydraulic thrusters as a safety component. These fail-safe thrusters provide a reliable stopping mechanism to prevent uncontrolled movements and potential hazards and ensure safe operations should a power failure occur.
In EMG's electrohydraulic thrusters, all the elements of a hydraulic actuation system are combined into one compact unit. When switched off, the hydraulic piston with the piston rod is in its lower end position. When switched on, the hydraulic pump delivers the operating fluid under the piston and thus generates the hydraulic pressure. This moves the piston up to the maximum stroke. The counterforce generated by a built-in brake or return spring or an external load - e.g. a brake - must be safely overcome.
The EMG ELDROclassic® electrohydraulic thruster offers 100 % fail-safe braking with flexible positioning, easy setup and intelligent low-temperature heating. With a standardized DIN motor ensuring quality and optimised casting for higher performance, combined with our 90-plus years of industry expertise, EMG ELDROclassic® provides reliable thrusters solutions backed by our comprehensive setup and maintenance assistance.
Our thrusters are also available in an explosion-proof version, as a DC series and, in combination with various sensors, as a digital version.
