EMG - the start for your career
Your school years are coming to an end and you are wondering what your step into working life could look like? At EMG you can choose between seven exciting apprenticeships - from commercial to industrial/technical. We are sure that there is the right thing for you and are looking forward to getting to know you!
Quality needs qualification: That's why we at EMG have attached great importance to the training of our employees for over 75 years. To date, more than 1,300 young people have successfully completed their training with us. This number is set to rise further...
Dual education - made in Germany
EMG trains in the dual system. The advantage is that the practical training in the company and the theoretical lessons in the vocational school are interlinked and complement each other in a meaningful way. In the process, our trainees are supervised by experienced trainers, qualified specialists and vocational school teachers within the framework of supplementary instruction. The training usually lasts 3 to 3.5 years and ends with the final examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. A shortening of the training period is possible with appropriate performance.
Training procedure
As an apprentice, you are a fully-fledged part of the company from the first day and work with us immediately. At EMG, the training process is laid down in training plans that are structured in terms of time and subject matter. During your training, you will work in several departments and gain insight into many areas.
Good training at EMG also includes
- Extensive range of training courses as part of the elexis Academy
- Plant tours at subsidiaries
- Supplementary lessons at the company
- Exam preparation courses
- Regular trainee trips
- Stays abroad (e.g. as part of the IHK WINGs project)
Out of responsibility for the region
Regional companies that do not have the possibility to carry out the complete training in their own company are supported by EMG. In addition to EMG trainees, a large number of other trainees from the region come to EMG every September to complete their basic training in the in-house EMG training workshop.
In addition, EMG also offers specialised courses and exam preparation courses for trainees from other companies. The "external" trainees are supervised by the trained specialist instructors. EMG has thus earned the trust of more than 40 companies from the region.
Digital training
The digital transformation is rapidly changing the world of work; we at EMG are also adapting in-company training accordingly. In the first step, EMG Automation GmbH is equipping all first year apprentices with laptops. In addition to personal responsibility and creativity, EMG also wants to promote the trainees' IT and media skills.
"It is very important to us that the apprentices learn how valuable the use of digital media is, especially in professional life. Besides Snapchat and Instagram, there are a lot of valuable apps that can be used very well in the context of education", says Lena Schütze. In addition to using a variety of learning apps, the apprentices can also create their report book in digital form on their own laptops.
Internships / Working students
Whether you are a school trainee in career orientation or a student looking for a basic and/or specialist internship or a long-term student trainee position with the option of writing your bachelor's and/or master's thesis at EMG - motivated and committed students and interns are always welcome at EMG.

What are the tasks and activities of your dream job? - and do they match your skills and interests? In your letter of application, also explain why you would like to start your training at EMG and why you are the right candidate for this training position.
