Effective July 1, 2025, Mesacon Messelektronik GmbH, which was acquired by elexis AG in 2022, will resume full responsibility for its own product segment in thickness measurement/iTiM. Detlef Jährling will take on the role of Managing Director of the Dresden-based company, while he, together with Dr. Robert Johne and Lukas Jährling, will also serve as a partner. This marks a clear entrepreneurial restart under the umbrella of an independent and more flexible organization.
Collaborative Partnership
The close cooperation with EMG will remain in place. In particular, the partnership will continue in manufacturing — for example, with printed circuit boards and housings for the iTiM product family. Product solutions such as the combination of thickness measurement (iTiM) and strip width measurement (EMG iCAM) will also be offered jointly on the market. The iTiM product family will remain fully available.
Continuity and realignment
Mesacon's existing team of experts will remain on board. This ensures that expertise, long-standing customer relationships and project continuity are retained. At the same time, Mesacon will utilise the new entrepreneurial freedom to react more quickly to market changes, make more targeted investments and further develop the business profitably.
What does this mean for you in concrete terms?
EMG and Mesacon will also continue to work closely together in terms of sales. You can of course continue to rely on the comprehensive advice of the experts from Mesacon and EMG.
For iTiM orders already in progress that have been awarded to EMG, nothing will change for you. These projects will continue to be managed and fully processed by EMG.

We would like to ask you to place planned orders for iTiM thickness measurement systems and the associated services directly with Mesacon. New iTiM orders placed directly with EMG will be subcontracted by EMG to Mesacon.
Of course, there will be no change to your responsibilities for enquiries and projects involving other EMG Automation products and solutions. The worldwide EMG team is available to you without restriction for all questions and requests.
